Sidewalk Accessibility - Kingston Pulled Another Blooper!

Today I went to work on the city bus, got off at a different bus stop than usual, then started along the sidewalk instead of the busy road to get to the corner. I was going full speed as usual and when I got to the corner where the sidewalk slopes down and there are tactile markings to indicate a curb cut I thankfully looked down and just narrowly missed going airborne. I rammed my wheelchair into reverse and skidded to a stop. Then I lost it. I started howling with frustration.

Once I collected myself, I pulled out my camera and took pictures to show the city so they could get it fixed. I took some still shots and then I noticed it was worse than I initially thought. Across the intersection a brand new piece of sidewalk has just finished being built in a curve to the road. This means that even if the city knocked out the curb cut, I would still have to dodge traffic to get onto the next piece of sidewalk so I can push the button for the walk signal and safely cross the road. A button press on that light or a car coming up to the corner crossing the same way as I want to walk is mandatory before the light will to change to stop the cars on the busy part of the road.
