High above Ludlow stands Titterstone Clee Hill. Explore it and, as this video shows, you will find extensive industrial remains.
For centuries the hill has been quarried for minerals, building stone and, unusually for such an upland location, coal. Simon Denison has some photographs of the ruins of these industries.
There used to be a bus route that started in a desolate bus station somewhere under Birmingham's New Street Station and ended by taking you over this hill, with its wonderful views to the south, and down into Ludlow.
