This is a straightforward piece of news. Mr Rohime Shafie is now the new Chief Executive Officer of Proton Edar (the sales arm of Proton Cars) replacing Mr Norzahid Mohd Zahudi who had tendered his resignation.

ROHIME SHAFIE HEADS PROTON EDAR AS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

SUBANG JAYA, 9 April 2016 – PROTON Holdings Berhad ("PROTON") announced the appointment of En. Rohime Shafie as the Chief Executive Officer of Proton Edar Sdn Bhd ("PESB"), replacing En. Norzahid Bin Mohd Zahudi who has tendered his resignation effective immediately.
En. Rohime Shafie, was formerly the Chief Financial Officer of PROTON. Rohime is a fellow member of Chartered Institute of Management Accountants UK, a member of Certified Public Accountant Australia and a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA). He also holds an MBA in Business Administration from Universiti Utara Malaysia. Rohime’s other previous roles include several key positions in the automotive industry as General Manager of Automotive Corporation (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, President of Honda Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Chief Executive Officer of DRB-Hicom Auto Solution Sdn Bhd and Chief Executive Officer of Edaran Otomobil Nasional Berhad ("EON"), to name a few.
With 28 years of experience in both finance and the automotive industry, he will play a pivotal role in reviving PESB’s sales and market share.
PROTON Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Ahmad Fuaad Kenali is pleased to welcome Rohime on board. "It is a challenging time for PROTON and this appointment will help strengthen the leadership of PESB to improve the sales and market share with specific focus in improving our customers’ satisfaction."
