Brain Memory Loss

Brain memory loss can simply be defined as loss of stored information in the brain due to factors such as age, injury, stress or severe emotional trauma can damage the normal functioning of the brain. The brain is powerhouse of all information and the brain is responsible for processing and delivering the required response at any point of time.

And, the process of storing and recollecting or remembering from the past experiences is nothing but memory. The on-going chain activity of the brain in receiving external stimulus, decoding, storing, retrieving and decoding the information is how the entire memory procedure works.
Main Causes of Brain Memory Loss

The whole brain and memory mechanism is rather very complex in nature, as the brain is constantly working and dealing with enormous amount of stimuli almost every second. So, one can imagine the brain to be a huge machine, which is tirelessly performing its duties. But this machine tends to lose its efficiency with age, which is one of prime factors of brain memory loss.

Although there are others factors that can damage the brain functioning such as injury, drugs, alcoholism etc. But age is the most common factor that can stunt normal brain activity. It can also develop memory-related diseases such as the much dreaded Alzheimer's or dementia as an extreme damage to memory posing a severe threat to sound mental health.
Short Term and Long term Memory

Memory that involves experiences from the distant past can be termed as long term memory and short-term memory is nothing but information stored in the recent past say prior to a few seconds or minutes can come under this category of memory.

The memory also involves other elements of brain activity- learning, perceiving, co-ordination and cognitive ability. This in turn requires a good amount of concentration and recalling capability. The brain needs a regular overhaul to ensure its normal functioning.
Brain Gym or Brain Exercises

The brain sometimes tends to give up on its operation, and this directly affects a person's memory and that is when you find it difficult to remember instances from the recent past.

For instance, you might find it hard to recall the most familiar faces or telephone numbers or you may forget where you kept the car key that was in your hand a few minutes back. With age, these symptoms are quite common with anyone, and all you need to do is keep the mind occupied with activity; exercise the brain with puzzles, math problem or play video games, which will speed up the brain process.

Memory games are of great help to keep your young and active and they serve as ideal tools for a brain gym. Choosing to play memory games that are simple and efficient in improving your memory can prevent early brain memory loss.
